The NYA After School Program provides a safe and supervised environment for school age children of Brewster at the end of the school day.
Our programs operate within the Brewster Elementary Schools from the close of the school day until 6 P.M. We offer a 1-hour only option from 2-3 P.M. for those who need just a short period of time. We also accept Brewster students attending Nauset Regional Middle School at our Eddy program.
Our days follow a predictable schedule that allows time for homework (with excellent help available from our staff), age appropriate games and activities (both large and small group), and time for free play or organized games in the gym or outside on the school playgrounds. The children are encouraged to make individual choices each day.
We provide diverse activities that include social interaction, multi-cultural awareness, literacy, STEM, arts and crafts, recreation, athletics, drama, music, cooking, martial arts, and pottery. (Check the Enrichments page for upcoming classes and events.)
Nutritionally balanced snacks are served daily.
Our staff members and volunteers have backgrounds and interests in the fields of education, social work, psychology, science and technology, and the arts. They each bring their uniqueness and creative energy to share with the after school programs. The Executive Director and staff work closely with the Brewster Elementary Schools, Nauset and Cape Cod Regional School Systems, and the Town of Brewster to provide our community with the best after school program possible. Staff members are CPR/First Aid trained and attend relevant workshops throughout the year for professional development.
Enrollment is available throughout the year based on availability.
